College Art Classes
Here is a more deep dive on the art skills that I have learn over the years of attending art classes from schools. I list all the skills that I have learn and explain what I plan to do when it comes to teaching the students I might have.
Painting Skills
I took 7 different styles of painting classes, from oil painting to water color. I have learn oil painting, acrylic, gouache, ink wash, glaze, digital painting, and watercolor. I been doing a great job on keeping up with each painting style and improving every time I paint with any style of paints. My biggest strengths when it comes to painting are acrylic, gouache, ink wash, digital painting, and watercolor. I am still great with painting the other styles like acrylic, gouache, and watercolor because they have a somewhat similar painting techniques that I learn from the other classes. I plan to teach the students any style of painting since coloring helps students to understand color theories. I will teach the students acrylic painting since most students that are new to painting might find acrylic to be much more easy to learn. If I do get more advance students that know how to paint, students might learn to do gouache since the media is a little difficult to learn. Overall students will get the opportunity to learn any style of painting which depends if the school is willing to let me teach the students.
Sculpture and Ceramics
When it comes to sculpture/ ceramics, I have taken 5 classes that help me learn the skills to make three dimensional objects. I know how to use the wheel, and I know how to make 3D sculptures too by using sculpture techniques. While I have not been making any sculpture or ceramics do to the fact that I do not own a kiln, I still know how to use the techniques by memory to this day. I do know how to make another 3D artworks like book binding, and cardboard artworks. I will be using these skills to help students to manipulate and morph the clay to make 3D artworks. I can also help students to make ceramic artwork since I am aware of the skills I need to use to make that artwork. If students want to make more arts and crafts type of art, I know the skills and lesson that can help students make 3D artwork. Students will have more fun making sculpture and ceramics since making 3D artwork is fun for students to do arts and crafts.
Traditional Drawing
I have taken many drawing classes over the years of being in college. I have learned life-drawing, perspective, illustration, animation, and rendering. I have taken more classes that had to do with drawing, which is why these skills are my biggest strengths and I plan on teaching the students how to draw. I am very familiar with character design and illustration. I can do all types of drawing style since I enjoy drawing things mainly when I am interested in the artwork. I have learn various types of drawing, which is why I will have no problem on teaching students how to draw on any style that the school wants me to teach them. Students might have more fun drawing cartoons and anime since most student at high school find animation to be interesting. I will have no problem if students want to draw anime as long the assignment allow students to express themselves.
